The Prier C-144 Diamond is the standard of quality for freezeless wall hydrants — satin nickel plated solid brass body, aluminum vacuum breaker cap, and dual backflow protection that meets ASSE 1019. It shuts off inside the heated wall, so the stem drains completely when you close it, leaving no water to freeze in the pipe. Prier has been manufacturing the C-144 since 1990, and every unit leaves the factory air-tested for leak-free quality.

The D12 is the 12" reach model — the right choice for standard brick veneer, concrete block, or other masonry walls where the distance from the interior pipe connection to the outside face of the wall requires more reach than a frame-wall hydrant can provide.

How to choose the right length: Wall hydrant length = the distance from your interior supply connection point to the outside face of the wall. Measure through the full wall assembly — brick, block, mortar, and any interior framing or furring — before ordering. The valve seat must sit inside the heated space, not within the masonry.

  • Dual backflow protection built in — aluminum-capped anti-siphon vacuum breaker plus an EPDM backflow check valve rated to 125 PSI meets ASSE 1019, required by most plumbing codes for outdoor hose connections
  • Solid brass throughout, satin nickel plated — body, valve stem cap, seat, and stem ends are all brass with a satin nickel finish that holds up to outdoor exposure without pitting or flaking
  • Aluminum vacuum breaker cap — more impact- and UV-resistant than plastic caps; upgraded from the original design and now standard on all Diamond Series hydrants
  • Integral cast flange with machined drainage pitch — the downward pitch is built into the flange at the factory, so the stem drains correctly after shutoff even if your wall isn't perfectly level
  • Enclosed screw holes on the flange — mounting screws are recessed and protected from weather, so they won't corrode and become difficult to remove at next service
  • ACME threads at the seat end — coarser thread profile won't seize or cross-thread, and holds the 12" stem securely under pressure cycling
  • Stainless steel seat washer screw and handle screw — the fasteners most exposed to water and outdoor conditions are stainless, not zinc
  • Slim seat inlet — narrower profile at the seat makes threading into tight interior pipe runs easier, especially when working through a masonry chase
  • Spout aligning mark with date code on the stem — lets you orient the spout downward from inside the wall before securing; the date code makes warranty and service tracking simple
  • EPDM packing — durable, weather-resistant packing that's field-serviceable without special tools; tighten the packing nut with a crescent wrench for minor drip behind the handle, or replace with kit C-134KT-803
  • Standard OO beveled bibb washer — a common size stocked at any plumbing wholesaler, not a proprietary replacement; kit C-134KT-802
